Attaching a lanyard or neck strap to an ipod touch

I use a cable tie adhesive holder to attach her lanyard. Stick it on her ipod touch case and problem solved. Its so weird that those waterproof / shockproof casing designer/manufacturer cant even add a simple hole in the cases for us to attach a lanyard.
